Shincha (shin-cha), our highest-grade, single origin Australian green tea, is made from young first-harvest spring leaves. Bursting with flavour and nutrients, these delicate leaves have a lively, grassy-fresh, vegetal taste. This unique ‘spring tea’ is perfect as a morning or afternoon pick-me-up. If you like a classic green tea without bitterness, you’ll love this style.  It’s great hot but for something really special, we recommend cold brewing this style.

A wonderful, delicate and refreshing tea, perfect hot or cold, any time of day 🙂

I’ve now found a tea that rivals my beloved houjicha! This one is fresh (without being too grassy), subtle and has a smooth aftertaste. You have to be careful not to ‘scorch’ the tea with hot water (warm water is best, or cold brew it) because it can develop a bitter aftertaste if you do that. I’ve enjoyed cold brewing this tea to make a refreshing drink for warmer days.

This is lovely – silky smooth, with balanced sweetness and umami and a rich grassy, fruity aroma.

I keep coming back to this tea because it’s the best green tea I have found in the country. It’s fresh, bold and satisfying. It tastes natural and real.

I have brought back many green teas from China and Japan over the years, but this one beats every single on of them. Stunningly delicate and perfectly balanced green notes and a slight bitter at the end. And locally grown in Victoria, winning!

As an avid Japanese Gyokuro drinker, I never thought I’d find another tea that challenged my love for Gyokuro. Perfect South’s Shincha not only does just that, it’s grown here in Australia. Absolutely sensational stuff!

Very nice tea! A little taste a long way. It tastes very nice hot and cold.

I love the freshness of the taste. So perfect for the afternoon, when you still need some caffeine, but not too much ! It is a true Japanese style tea, but grown in Australia- the best of both worlds!

Tasty. Good quality. Brews well. Holds flavour. No artificial stuff. By far my favourite green tea in Australia. Support local growers and local industry.

Love this tea, and all of the green teas in the range! Great to have the option of buying Australian grown, highest quality

I have been taking green tea on a regular basis for approx 1 year, since I was diagnosed with Amyloidosis TTR variety and several research projects have found green tea to help counter the protein fibrils that cause me problems, accumulating in the heart muscle.
I firstly looked for OZ products and found your brand.
Love the taste and now add tea to my daily mix of coffee and good old mountain rain water.

Possibly one of the best teas produced in Australia. The processing skill and knowledge is abundantly obvious in quality of the vibrant tea from the time I first opened the packaging to finishing a serving. Surprised to see the tea plant being grown in Australia and processed using clearly Japanese methods: the quality of the tea sits amongst other high end teas that I have to import from Japan and China. Like other Japanese teas it is delicate and requires proper handling to prepare a serving. The taste is distinctly differently, but not at all unpleasant, to Japanese counterparts: it is grassy, smooth and transportive. The difference in taste, I am convinced is the tea plant being grown in Australia.

The tea tastes as excellent as some of the top brands of authentic Japanese green tea. Tea leaves were very fresh as advertised. I was delighted to find this product. The tea canister is made of environmentally-friendly compressed cardboard paper, and the packaged arrived with hand-written cards and a good gift wrapping, both of which were totally unexpected and heart-warming. Highly recommended.

I am now converted to green tea, thanks to your Shincha. I always have a pot of tea ready for any time to drink. Forget about juices and sugary drinks!

Here in the USA I was excited to find shincha in the fall. Question was how this Australian product compares to similar offerings from Japan.

This tea does not disappoint. Handle it gently, and you get a pale green cup that is just as sweet, acid free, umami rich, and evocative of the first weeks of spring as any tea labeled “shincha” or “ichibancha” I have ever tried. As a bonus, it is very affordable, even with international shipping. Perhaps because i got canisters instead of bags, but the tea essentially all whole leaves and very little dust.

Summary: legit shicha, premium product at a sticks and stems price.

First received this tea as a gift – have been a repeat customer for 2 years now! Coming from a Chinese family we are quite particular with our tea at home – but we all love this one. Lovely, very high quality green tea.

Ordered the 250 gram pack of Shincha tea this time. It is my all time favourite. I could drink it all day. Always have my little Zero teapot filled up for my end of night treat.

This green tea is honestly the best I’ve ever tasted. The leaves are so fresh. In they go into my little Zero teapot and voila, gorgeous subtle flavours . With winter coming on it prompts me to drink more. Comforting hygge as they say in Denmark.

This is by far the best tea I have ever tried, so delicate and refreshing. I love that is an Australian product, delivery was very fast and it came with a lovely handwritted note. Thank you

So delicate, so pure. I always drink my Sincha in a special china cup, very slowly to savour the beautiful flavour and taste. Grassy, yes. Smooth, yes. The perfect tea to relax with.

    I love this product!!!

I am sorry I did not review when you sent this email.

I used to have a Chinese cleaner and she bought me a special pot. I make a fresh pot of this tea each morning and help myself to several cups during the day from the same pot by pouring some concentrated tea in an filling the rest of the cup with hot water.

Thank you so much. I love that you are in Newtown and I am in Glebe!

This tea is a delight, light, vegetal, a little buttery & very refreshing. Several infusions can be enjoyed from the original serving. A few cups in the morning certainly brightens my day! So nice to be able to buy such beautiful green tea from Australia.
